DEPARTMENT: CPD, Department of Finance (DoF. This post represents a significant opportunity for applicants to play an important part in the administration of procurement policy and practice in Northern Ireland. Public procurement expenditure (at circa £3 billion per year) represents approximately 25% of the resources available to the NI Executive. It is therefore an important part of the economy as well as ensuring goods, services and facilities are available to provide public services to citizens. CPD works with all government departments to ensure that public procurement policy is up to date and effective. CPD works closely with officials at the Cabinet Office, Scotland and Wales on matters of mutual interest. A merit list will be compiled but will only be used should this post become vacant again in the lifetime of the competition which is for one year.
