Plant Equipment Engineer. Overview: Our client, a highly respected and well-known manufacturing facility in Shannon, is looking for a Plant Equipment Engineer to join their team. This company has been around over 35 years and is Ireland's largest manufacturer of chemicals. This is an excellent company to work for, so much so, that positions for this company don't come up very often. Due to expansion our client is looking for a multi-disciplinary Plant Equipment Engineer to join their plant in Shannon. The successful candidate will work with a team of chemists, fitters, electricians and plant supervisors, and tasks include trouble-shooting, process optimisation, plant upgrade and automation, as well as working on plant design, upscaling from R&D trials to full scale production. Plant Equipment Engineer Responsibilities: On a daily basis you will work with the in-house team of maintenance fitters to be involved new plant design and overseeing production equipment maintenance. You will implement and manage the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules carried out on equipment. Changes/upgrade plant & equipment form part of this process. You will lead existing plant/process improvements through plant upgrades & automation. You will lead new plant design activities and coordinate with multi-discipline designers. You will assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects. Skills and experience: Degree in Engineering with a min of 5 years experience in maintenance roles. Hands-on experience of preventive/ reactive maintenance. Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients and vendors at all levels.
