A Road Freight Manager is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Shannon based client. This is an opportunity to join a well-established Shannon-based client with networks across Europe. THE ROLE: * To provide a professional and efficient road freight operations service. * To manage and co-ordinate all European transport and forwarding activities. * Manage the forwarding Import and Export team. * Day to day management and assistance of the Operations team. * Agree pricing, quotes and services. * Review suppliers and actively look for new ones. * Ensure all suppliers are working in line with service and pricing agreements. * Maintain and update sales tariffs for European business. * Manage relationships with agents and forwarding customers. * Follow and update SOP's and ensure implementation. * Arrange staff training. * Ensure all reports are completed on time. * Customer visits. REQUIREMENTS: * Previous experience in road freight essential, in a management/supervisory capacity. * Excellent telephone skills and customer service experience. * Forklift License desirable but not essential. * Excellent problem-solving skills.
