To meet ongoing business growth we need to expand our team and are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician at our Ennis manufacturing site. Working as part of a multi-functional maintenance team, providing an electrical / maintenance service to ensure that all equipment operates at optimum level and that equipment and electrical services are safe and efficient, the EMT will also work on continually improving the efficiency and effectiveness of facilities and manufacturing equipment, While the core competency is that of an electrician, the EMT is expected to carry out work encompassing mechanical as well as electrical aspects. Main Responsibilities Investigate and repair breakdowns and malfunctions with a view to minimising equipment downtime. The Electrical Maintenance Technician must be able to work on any production or plant equipment and be capable of diagnosing the causes of a wide range of malfunctions. Carry out planned maintenance on all site electrical equipment working to a planned maintenance schedule and inclusive of thermal imaging. Contribute and participate in the assignment of equipment priorities, planning and scheduling, maintenance plans, reviews and failure investigations. Maintain and update all maintenance documentation, which will include PC- based systems. Keep the working areas clean and tidy, cleaning up after each maintenance operation. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Engage directly with manufacturers and suppliers of parts to ensure timely and efficient availability of equipment as required. Complete and submit EHS forms such as PTW and incident forms. Support and train other staff in carrying out operator-level checks and maintenance tasks. Provide on-the-job training to inexperienced or new personnel. Investigate and correct processing problems with the assistance of the shift operating personnel, and other specialist personnel, if necessary. Undertake the writing and updating of risk assessments and SOPs. Communicate to the incoming shift/supervisor on any work which is outstanding and needs to be completed or may cause problems during the shift. This communication should include any health and safety issues. Rebuild spare assemblies to ensure critical spares to be made available at all times for focused areas. Identify, organise and supervise the attendance of 3rd party technicians to provide additional support in a timely manner. Ensure duties are completed in compliance with all EHS and operational policies and procedures at all times. Carry out project work on new equipment and plant, assisting technical staff with development work. Withdraw and book spare items from engineering stores. Be a pro-active team member to help ensure best production results are achieved, receiving skills transfer from other team members and if a team member is unavailable assisting in that area. Assist with the moving or installation of plant or equipment under supervision. Carry out miscellaneous maintenance and repair work on request. Carry out additional duties as instructed by the Engineering Manager. Occasionally required to work outside of normal hours to suit particular tasks. Requirements. The job-holder must be a fully qualified electrician with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, including: Electrical maintenance background in an industrial environment. Experience commissioning industrial installations and equipment. Experience with maintaining and trouble-shooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems. He/She must also have: Strong awareness of the relevant statutory and industry codes for electrical maintenance and installations. Strong interpersonal and team skills, well developed abilities in decision-making and problem solving, and the ability to plan and organise a demanding workload are also essential. Experience such as working with manufacturing equipment and/or production lines, Security systems/PLCs; and/or a quality management system such as BRC or ISO9000 is advantageous. Experience in regulated industries such as food, pharmaceutical or medical devices would also be beneficial. Full EU driving licence. Huhtamaki CupPrint is an Equal Opportunities employer.
