A Buyer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Shannon based client. This is an opportunity to join a select team within a rapidly growing manufacturing company. THE ROLE: * Working within the Logistics Group, the Buyer's role involves the sourcing/purchasing of all items in a timely and cost effective manner with particular emphasis on purchasing within agreed budgets from the most competitive vendors. * The role also has the responsibility of identifying key improvement activities to achieve saving targets in line with plant requirements. In addition to purchasing, the person will have responsibility for a range of raw material, spare parts and consumable inventories. REQUIREMENTS: * The successful candidate will have a track record in the materials / logistics management function including: * Implementation of Cost Reduction Programmes. * Manage the formulation, interpretation, negotiation and execution of Supplier agreements / contracts. * Vendor Management, Lean Initiatives, GMP and compliance requirements. * Identify and drive cost savings through improved procurement strategies.
